There have been so many haunted hospital movies over the years. If a filmmaker has a new take, there better be a compelling twist on the formula. Corinna Faith has that settled with her new movie The Power.
Set in 1974, with rolling blackouts disrupting the UK, this ghost story follows a new nurse (Rose Williams) at a dilapidated hospital in East London. Assigned to the night shift during a blackout, she has only a few patients and staff. But when something in the darkness announces its presence, she has more to worry about than keeping her job. Written and directed by Corinna Faith, she took inspiration from traditional ghost stories and the #MeToo movement.
The Power will premiere exclusively on Shudder on Thursday, April 8.
