Tilda Swinton Plays Mother and Daughter in “The Eternal Daughter” Trailer

Leave it to Tilda Swinton to take on not only one challenging role, but two. In Swinton’s new film, The Eternal Daughter, the actress plays an artist and her elderly mother as the duo returns to a former family home. The daughter must grapple with the hotel’s long-buried secrets and its connections to her mother.

The new trailer for the film is plenty spooky and mysterious, with the classic setting of an old, mostly abandoned hotel complete with rolling fog and mysterious creaking sounds. Swinton, per usual, almost instantly disappears into her characters, snagging buy-in from the audience easily.

Directed by Joanna Hogg, The Eternal Daughter also stars Carly-Sophia Davies, and Zinnia Davies-Cooke. It previously showed at the Venice Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, BFI London Film Festival, and the New York Film Festival. See the trailer below and see it in theaters and on demand on December 2.
