Ahead of its world premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival, Shudder has acquired Edoardo Vitalelli's The Last Thing Mary Saw. The debut feature from the Italian filmmaker will not arrive until next year.
In 1840s New York, Mary (Stefanie Scott) navigates her ultra-strict, ultra-religious family and her growing attraction to their maid Eleanor (Isabelle Fuhrman). Tension builds after the arrival of a mysterious man (Rory Culkin) and the death of Mary's grandmother. There will definitely be some supernatural elements as well.
Shudder will release the film in early 2022 in North America, the UK and Ireland, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
