David Corenswet is trading in the suits as he migrates from the Man of Steel to Mr. Irrelevant, John Tuggle, in an underdog story primed for a holiday run.
Paramount and Skydance Sports have just unveiled the first trailer for Jonathan Levine’s biopic about the late New York Giants running back. The film, a heartbreaking story of love, power, and courage, recounts the final months of Tuggle’s life before his untimely death from cancer at the age of 25, just three years after he was selected last in the 1983 NFL Draft.
Tuggle’s story is one for the ages. He worked to defy expectations on and off the field, impressing then-first-year head coach Bill Parcells (Michael Shannon), defying the odds to earn a spot on the final roster, and becoming a part of a legacy program within the National Football League. Through it all, he showed that hope, perseverance, and faith can carry us through as he worked to process, battle, and overcome life’s greatest challenges.
Mr. Irrelevant co-stars Isabel May, David Krumholtz, Twain Barrett, Thaddeus LaGrone, Alexander England, Spencer House, and Tandi Wright. Written by Nick Santora, the film hits theaters—and your heartstrings—on Christmas Day.
