After a twitter tease last night, 20th Century Fox has finally given us the final trailer for their forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse.
The film, which is directed by franchise regular Bryan Singer, showcases the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse. And upon awakening after thousands of years, the man who was worshiped as a god decides to recruit others in an effort to cleanse mankind. Raven, with the help of Professor X, must build an army of young X-Men to challenge their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
The trailer is fairly story centric, though it refuses to shy away from the special effects. We find ourselves face to face with many of our favorite mutants, even getting a quick tease for Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine.
Starring Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Olivia Munn, Sophia Turner and Oscar Isaac as the title villain, X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit theaters May 27.
