In the land of remakes and sequels, it was only a matter of time…What Men Want is a remake of 2000’s Mel Gibson-led What Women Want, but this time, it’s a woman getting the man’s perspective.
Tara P. Henson plays Ali Davis, a successful sports agent who’s constantly boxed out by her male colleagues. Frustrated by the glass ceiling she can’t seem to escape, she accidentally gains the ability to hear men’s thoughts - spoiler alert - which don’t seem to go all that deep! Armed with her new ability, Ali tries to outsmart her coworkers to sign the next basketball superstar, but risks putting her relationship with her friends and a potential new love interest (Aldis Hodge) at risk.
Directed by Adam Shankman, the film looks to lean heavily into comedy, with a cast rounded out with Tracy Morgan, Richard Roundtree, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Josh Brener, Tamala Jones, Phoebe Robinson, Max Greenfield, Jason Jones, Brian Bosworth, Chris Witaske and Erykah Badu.
