With 349 million Instagram followers and a long career in Hollywood, Selena Gomez has grown up firmly in the spotlight, for better or worse. Now, through a partnership with Apple Original Films, Gomez is set to release a documentary that promises to pull back the curtain on her hardest battles.
Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me follows the multi-hyphenate talent though a period of “darkness” and chronicles a six-year journey into a new light. Filmmakers follow her through journeys abroad, hospital visits, trips back home, and luxurious vacations while interviewing her about her her upbringing and the mental struggles she’s been through that may not have been apparent to the general public.
The documentary is directed by Alec Keshishian, who previously directed Madonna: Truth or Dare and produced by Lighthouse Management + Media and Interscope Films, the same collaboration as the Emmy Award-nominated Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry.
