Brazilian Soccer Star Neymar Makes No Apologies in Upcoming Netflix Docuseries

“Everything he does is about entertainment.” In the first 30 seconds of the trailer for Neymar: The Perfect Chaos, you’re buffeted with glimpses of interviews with some of soccer’s greatest stars — Kylian Mbappe, Luis Suarez, David Beckham, and even Lionel Messi have sat down to discuss Neymar de Silva Santos Junior, more colloquially known as Neymar.

Netflix’s new three-part docuseries promises to give its audience an unfiltered look at the life of a modern soccer legend. Currently playing for the French team Paris St-Germain, Neymar quickly made a name for himself at a young age, playing for some of the biggest clubs in the world and representing a country known for producing great soccer talents, Brazil. Hand in hand with his skills with a soccer ball came his flashy antics off the field. Known to enjoy fame and be a bit of a diva, Neymar has always had the media’s eye.

Directed by David Charles Rodrigues, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos looks set to tell Neymar’s story from childhood to his stardom today. The docuseries also covers the marketing machine behind the man and the complications that can arise when family members become your employees.

Neymar: The Perfect Chaos premieres on Netflix on January 25. Plenty of time to watch before the World Cup begins in December 2022 and maybe it’ll convert some casual viewers to purchase that Brazilian Neymar jersey.
