The Turtles Face an Identity Crisis in New “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” Trailer

This morning we were treated to the latest trailer for Paramount Pictures’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2014 summer blockbuster. And while the original had a hard time finding its identity, this one appears to be on the right track to righting a few wrongs. The only question that remains is whether it can save the sinking ship.

In the film our “heroes in a half shell” return with their Sensei/Father Splinter and bff April O’Neil to fight the evil Shredder. Thankfully we will have a few more character to enjoy this time around as Bebop and Rocksteady, Casey Jones, Krang, and Baxter Stockman are all set to appear.

Based on the trailer Out of the Shadows brings more of the cartoon/comic tone that most remember. Set to the backdrop of the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”, Paramount utilizes the time is has, showcasing some fast paced action shots surrounding Bebop and Rocksteady and new footage of masked vigilante Casey Jones.

Returning castmembers Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, William Fichtner, Noel Fisher, Brian Tee, Tony Shalhoub and Jeremy Howard are joined by franchise newcomers Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, comedian Gary Anthony Williams and WWE wrestler Stephen Farrelly.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows comes out June 3, 2016.
