From the director of The Queen of Versailles comes a new documentary about America’s obsession with wealth. Premiering at the Sundance Film Festival, Generation Wealth has photographer and filmmaker Lauren Greenfield examining wealth culture and why Americans, in particular, seem to be so obsessed with it.
The trailer shows us heaps of gold, fancy cars, makeup and plastic surgery, all wrapped up in a shameless love of money and wealth. The people she interviews seem determined to have as much money as possible, the 1% of the 1%.
At times both fascinating and repulsive, Generation Wealth looks to uncover the harsh reality of what happens when we become obsessed with money, and the outlook doesn’t look good. See Generation Wealth in select theaters on July 20, 2018.
