Walt Disney Pictures has just released the first poster for their upcoming film Maleficent, the un-told story of Disney's most iconic vilian from 1959's Sleeping Beauty.
Growing up in a peaceful forest kingdom, Maleficent is a beautiful woman with a pure heart. But when an invading army threatens the peace within the land, Maleficent must rise to the occassion. A brutal act of betrayal turns her pure heart to stone, and a curse on an infant becomes the act of ultimate revenge.
The highly anticipated film stars Angelina Jolie, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton and Juno Temple and is directed by Robert Stromberg. It is currently set for a May 30, 2014 release date.

I see too many movies to actually win any film trivia contest, so don’t waste your first pick on me. My friends rent movies from my bookcase shelves, and one day I do plan to start charging. I long to live in LA, where my movie obsession will actually help me fit in, but for now I am content with my home in Austin. I prefer indies to blockbusters, Longhorns to Sooners and Halloween to Friday the 13th. I miss the classics, as well as John Ritter, and I hope to one day sit down and interview the amazing Kate Winslet.
