Jordan Peele's movies have always had a distinct visual style, even on a limited budget. Since Nope is his biggest project yet, it's no surprise he also went big for his film stock.
Oscar-nominated cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema shot the film with both 65mm stock and IMAX for some sequences. In anticipation of the movie's release, IMAX has released a brief featurette on the making of the film. Both Peele and van Hoytema excitedly talk about how special it was to use IMAX cameras on the set, creating awe-inspiring images.
Nope arrives in theaters on July 22.
