Harrelson and McConaughey Star in Apple TV’s “Brothers”

Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey are taking their famous bromance to Apple TV. In their new comedy Brothers, the two actors play fictional version of themselves. Things take a turn when they discover they may actually be brothers. Set at McConaughey’s fictional Texas ranch, the two must navigate this news while McConaughey juggles a potential run for Governor of Texas.

With an eight-episode order, Brothers debuts globally on September 23 with its first two episodes. Harrelson and McConaughey both executive produce alongside showrunner Lee Eisenberg. The ensemble cast includes Holland Taylor, Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Nolan Almeida, Ella Grace Helton, Noah Carganilla, Highdee Kuan, and Oona Yaffe.

The pair have been appearing on screen together since 1998’s Ron Howard directed EDtv.  Perhaps their most famous project is 2014’s True Detective.  That show, a global juggernaut, garnered Emmy nominations for both actors. Awards aside, the two have no problem leaning in to their friendship, recently starring together in a series of ads for Salesforce in 2024.

Brothers is produced for Apple TV by Paramount Television Studios with Trent O’Donnell directing multiple episodes including the highly anticipated pilot.

With an established and renowned chemistry, Brothers looks to be a heartwarming comedy capitalizing on the natural rapport of Harrelson and McConaughey. Who wouldn’t want to make a TV show with your good friend? Catch the first two episodes on Apple TV on September 23.
