Disney+ is Bringing Free Outdoor Screenings to the Long Center for SXSW

South by Southwest has always been known as a bit of a mad house, particularly for locals and those without badges. If you want to enjoy SXSW without a badge, it often takes some serious planning, research, and line waiting. Thankfully, Disney+ has announced that it will be hosting free outdoor screenings of family favorites on March 12, and hopefully that means a stress free way to enjoy the festival with kiddos.

From 11:30am to 9:45pm on Saturday, March 12, Disney+ will screen Jungle Cruise (11:30am), Cruella (3:30pm), and Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings (7:30pm) for free at The Long Center’s Hartman Concert Lawn. Set against the backdrop of the Austin downtown skyline, it’s sure to be a hit activity for all ages. The event will also have giveaways, larger-than-life characters, and more fun surprises throughout the day.

Jungle Cruise stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt as they go on an adventure down the Amazon as wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Cruella stars Emma Stone as the titular character and gives audiences the backstory of the legendary Disney villain from 1961’s One Hundred and One Dalmatians. Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he’s pursued by the shadowy Ten Rings organization.

With fun giveaways and right at the center of the SXSW action, Disney+ is poised to bring some easy family fun in (hopefully) beautiful Austin spring weather on March 12.
