Blockbuster Plans Midnight Part for Hunger Games DVD Release

Blockbuster is teaming with Lionsgate Home Entertainment to throw an amazing part to celebrate the midnight release of The Hunger Games, which hits store shelves this Friday, August 15th.

The film, which stars Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence,  Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Donald Sutherland, tells the story of a post-apocalyptic North America where teenagers are sent into an arena where they fight to the death.

Fans around the world fell in love with the big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, and now you can pre-order a copy of the film and get a poster to commemorate the midnight release.  In addition, show up Thursday night with other fans to play trivia games, win prizes, and watch the film in the store!

I see too many movies to actually win any film trivia contest, so don’t waste your first pick on me. My friends rent movies from my bookcase shelves, and one day I do plan to start charging. I long to live in LA, where my movie obsession will actually help me fit in, but for now I am content with my home in Austin. I prefer indies to blockbusters, Longhorns to Sooners and Halloween to Friday the 13th. I miss the classics, as well as John Ritter, and I hope to one day sit down and interview the amazing Kate Winslet.
