An Unlikely Friendship Takes Dark Turn in “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone”

In the trailer for new Netflix film Mr. Harrigan’s Phone, it’s easy to believe at the beginning you’re watching the story of an unlikely yet endearing friendship. Craig (Jaeden Martell), a young boy living in a small town, befriends Mr. Harrigan (Donald Sutherland), an eccentric and lonely billionaire. When Mr. Harrigan dies, Craig feels a little lost without his advice but soon finds that Mr. Harrigan is far from silent, communicating through an iPhone Craig placed in his coffin. As Craig learns more about Mr. Harrigan’s past, it’s clear that this is something much darker than simply an unlikely friendship.

This supernatural coming-of-age story is based on the short story by Stephen King, directed by John Lee Hancock, and produced by Ryan Murphy, Jason Blum, and Carla Hacken. The eerie film is set to release in the perfect month, October.

Catch the trailer below and stream it on Netflix October 5.
