Steven Segal is back, and judging by the trailer for his upcoming film Code of Honor, not much has changed for the high-octane action star.
Starring as Army Colonel Robert Aaron Sikes in Michael Winnick’s upcoming film, Segal dials up his typical “revenge-driven” persona, vowing to rid his entire city of crime when his family falls victim to a drive-by shooting. Taking on gangs, politicians and mobsters, he will stop at nothing until his mission is complete. If this all sounds strikingly familiar, don’t be alarmed. The storyline itself is a run of the mill go-to for action stars, likely used at least half a dozen times by Segal himself.
Lionsgate has just released a new trailer for the film, and if it is any indication as to the quality of work associated with this title, it might be best to keep your distance. Sure a mindless action flick can be entertaining, especially when the mood is right. But this one reeks of discomfort and frustrating clichés. But, I’ll let you check it out and be the judge.
Co-starring Craig Sheffer, James Russo, Helena Mattsson and Louis Mandylor Code of Honor is set to hit theaters and VOD on Mar 6th.
