Blake Lively has been diversifying her portfolio over the last several years and I am absolutely loving it.
Her latest film, Reed Moran’s The Rhythm Section, sees the actress star as Stephanie Patrick, a revenge seeking woman who is out for vengeance on those who orchestrated a plane crash that stole her family from her.
The new trailer provides a solid look at the film, positioning Lively in several action sequences that depict a high octane thrill ride, complete with MMA style fight sequences that shed Lively’s innocent outer layer and reveal a strong and determined female protagonist.
“I’ve got nothing to lose,” Lively’s Patrick states. Two minutes later, I fully believe her.
Backed by Janel Drewis’ creepy and airy “In the Pines (Where Did You Sleep Last Night),” the film screams inspiration from The Bourne Identity series, and we are not complaining.
Co-starring Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown, The Rhythm Station is set to hit theaters on January 31.
