In the age of sequels, prequels, reboots and revivals, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Warner Bros. has opted to expand on a universe that has already gotten the remake treatment. But unlike other repeats, Ocean's 8 appears to be doing everything right - including casting Oscar winner Sandra Bullock as the film’s lead.
The film, which just got a new trailer, bolsters one of the most impressive casts of recent memory - a regular for the franchise. And while the original film (and its remake) features a wealth of testosterone, this one is centric on the ladies as a team of female criminals band together to preform an unprecedented robbery at the highly exclusive (and visually spectacular) Met Gala.
Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Rihanna join Bullock, with Gary Ross serving director duties.
Though there likely won’t be any awards that come out of this film, by the looks of things, its gonna be a hell of a lot of fun. Ocean's 8, in all its kick-ass, girl power glory, hits theaters on June 8.
