Grab a tissue because the new trailer for A24’s Lean on Pete gives us all the feels.
Charlie Plummer stars as Charley Thompson, a fifteen-year-old boy who finds acceptance and camaraderie at a local racetrack after he and his father make the move to Portland, Oregon. When Charley lands a job caring for an aging horse named Lean on Pete, a friendship is developed. But when he discovers that his new friend is headed for the slaughter, Charley and Pete head out on a wild adventure across the country in search of hope, love and understanding.
Backed by an emotional score, the trailer gives Lean on Pete a sense of raw emotion and heartbreak. The film looks to pull hard at your heartstrings and will likely require a tissue or two - never a bad thing when you’re dealing with a coming of age story involving a young boy and his love for an animal.
Steve Buscemi and Chloë Sevigny join Plummer in the film, which is directed by Andrew Haigh and set to hit theaters on March 30.

I long to live in LA, where my movie obsession will actually help me fit in, but for now I am content with my home in Austin. I prefer indies to blockbusters, Longhorns to Sooners and Halloween to Friday the 13th. I miss the classics, as well as John Ritter, and I hope to one day sit down and interview the amazing Kate Winslet.
