Steve Carell’s TBS Cop Comedy Gets Series Order

It didn't take long for former Parks and Recreation star Rashida Jones to land back on television. Cop comedy Tribeca, starring Jones and produced by The Office'sSteve Carell has just been ordered to series ahead of TBS's upfront presentation in New York.

Tribeca is a single-camera satirical look at a police procedural starring Angie Tribeca (Jones), a veteran of the LAPD's elite RHCU "“ Really Heinous Crimes Unit. The RHCU is made up of an eccentric group of people who solve crimes and get a bit TMI with each other. With Jones and Carell both veterans of critically successful workplace comedies, it's no surprise that their next venture explores the same vein, albeit in single-camera format.

Carell and his wife Nancy created the show and Carell will direct the pilot. The series has been given a 10-episode order and should premiere in 2015. Campbell Smith and Thom Hinkle will exec produce the comedy, which co-stars Jere Burns, Deon Cole and Andree Vermeulen. Alfred Molina, Lisa Kudrow and Gary Cole guest star in the pilot.
