Television legend David E. Kelley (The Practice, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal) is bringing his talents to streaming giant Netflix. And he’s sticking to what he knows best, a legal drama.
The Lincoln Lawyer is the story of Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), an unconventional lawyer with strong ideals that prefers to run his law practice out of the back of his Lincoln as he traverses across Los Angeles. When a colleague is killed, he’s left to take over his firm and tackle the biggest case of his career, a high-profile murder trial involving a tech millionaire. The series is based on The Brass Verdict, the second book in The Lincoln Lawyer series by Michael Connelly.
The newly released trailer gives us a more thorough look at what we can expect. It’s got all the drama of a network legal drama and leaves us with plenty of questions about the murder trial, Mickey’s associates, his family, and his past. It doesn’t hurt that his favorite mode of transportation is sleek and gives us plenty to look at as it glides through the streets of Los Angeles.
Developed for television by Ted Humphrey (also serving as showrunner), The Lincoln Lawyer also stars Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Angus Sampson, and Jazz Raycole and is produced by A+E Studios.
