It’s fitting that the son of Psycho star Anthony Perkins, Oz Perkins, is coming out with a horror movie. Scant on the details, Longlegs has just released its first teaser, full of eerie music, quick cuts, and foreboding images to really pique your interest.
We do know that Longlegs is about a detective (Maika Monroe) investigating an occult killing spree with a personal connection to the case. Nicholas Cage, Blair Underwood, and Alicia Witt also star in unknown roles. Directed and written by Perkins, the film is set to be released by Neon this summer and was produced by Cage’s Saturn Pictures, Range, Traffic, Oddfellows, and C2 Motion Picture Group.
While the plot remains mysterious, the teaser hints at peculiar symbols, people covered in blood, and flashbacks between the past and modern day. The tagline doesn’t reveal much either: “You’ve got the teeth of the hydra upon you.” We’ll just have to wait for more when Longlegs hits theaters on July 12.
