The director of The Big Short, Adam McKay, is at it again, this time interpreting the life of Dick Cheney with the same humor and wit he brought portraying the financial crisis. Christian Bale stars as the former vice president himself, almost unrecognizable in aging makeup and extra pounds. The frenetic trailer gives us a glimpse of what’s to come, as Cheney negotiates with George W. Bush (Sam Rockwell) about how involved he expects to be as vice president.
The film is packed with stars, including Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Jesse Plemons, Alison Pill, Lily Rabe, Tyler Perry and Justin Kirk. Producers include McKay, Brad Pitt and Will Ferrell. Check out the trailer and then see it in theaters on December 25, 2018.
