Hot off the trails of Jeff Nichols’s Loving, we’re back with more stories of forbidden love. In director Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom, King Seretse Khama of Botswana (David Oyelowo) falls in love with Ruth Williams (Rosamund Pike), a white woman from London. Their decision to marry in the late 1940s, just as apartheid was being introduced into South Africa, stands as a triumph of good will.
