Video Game Adaptation “Monster Hunter” Arrives on Digital & Blu-Ray

A bit of escapism never hurt anyone, especially these days. While many of us may not be seeing action films and monster movies on the big screen anytime soon, we can still enjoy some thrills from the safety of our own homes.

Based on the popular video game, Monster Hunter is a classic kaiju film that sees Captain Artemis (sci-fi stalwart Milla Jovovich) and her unit (T.I. Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) transported to a new world during a sandstorm and discovering that this world is populated by enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their ammo. While trying to survive, they find the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), who somehow manages to always be one step ahead of the monsters. Forced to unite against a common enemy, the team must find a way to defeat these powerful creatures. The film is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and produced by Jeremy Bold, Paul W.S. Anderson, Dennis Berardi, Robert Kulzer, and Martin Moszkowicz.

If you can’t wait for a good monster movie, Monster Hunter arrives on digital February 16 but if you like extras and high quality visuals, you’ll have to wait until the DVD/4K Ultra HD/Blu-Ray release on March 2. The hard copies include deleted scenes, making-of featurettes, and more on how they adapted this famous video game to film.
