“The Greasy Strangler” Ups the Ick Factor With New Poster

Few films combine father-son comedy with a greasy serial killer who strangles innocent people, but The Greasy Strangler is one of a kind. The movie that The Daily Beast’s Jen Yamoto called “The first true WTF film of 2016” opens in theaters in October, but the plot and early buzz indicate that we’ll be talking about this flick for quite some time.

The L.A.-set Greasy Strangler follows Big Ronnie and Brayden, a father and son who co-run a disco walking tour. When a beautiful woman named Janet walks into their lives, the family members go to war for her attention. Meanwhile, the City of Angels may have bigger problems: an eerily oily killer lurks in the background, threatening (and creeping out) everyone on the disco walking tour scene and beyond.

This has “cult classic” written all over it, and a unique all-star squad in front of and behind the camera. The Greasy Strangler marks the feature film debut of talented short filmmaker Jim Hosking, and newbie character actors Michael St. Michaels, Sky Elobar and Elizabeth De Razzo headline the cast. Oh, and the music was scored by Andrew Hung from a band called Fuck Buttons.

In other words, don’t run away when The Greasy Strangler comes to town—run to your nearest theater.

Check out the film’s poster below, and see it in theaters or on VOD October 7th.
