A simple father-son comedy this is not. Set in LA, The Greasy Strangler follows Disco Walking Tour owner Ronnie and his son Brayden. When a woman shows up one day for a tour it sets off a family rivalry, prompting a series of events that bring about the arrival of a slimy, inhuman zealot who stalks the streets at night strangling innocent people.
Honestly, this film looks like a stream of thought/ramblings of a mad man, but there are people who are going to love it and for them, have fun. Jen Yamato of the Daily Beast calls this “the first true WTF film of 2016” and it’s hard to argue with her. It’s hard to even describe what is shown in the trailer, you seriously just have to watch it. The visuals alone will make your jaw drop - not necessarily in a good way.
The Greasy Strangler is directed by Jim Hosking (The ABCs of Death 2) and stars Michael St. Michaels, Sky Elobar, and Elizabeth De Razzo. It is set to debut in theaters and on VOD October 7th, just in time for those Halloween drinking games.
