The Inhumans movie just cannot seem to gain any traction.
With Disney’s recent announcement of the fifth Indian Jones film, Marvel’s Inhumans, the final film in Phase III of their hugely successful Marvel Cinematic Universe, has once again been pushed back from its expected July 12, 2019 release.
“Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun contination of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Collider magazine. “How far down is shuffles, I’m not sure yet.”
Marvel might have had painted itself into the proverbial corner with their Inhumans feature. While the film wouldn’t be released for another, at best, three years, the company already let the cat out of the bag in the way of ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On the show the Inhumans have been the source for the main storyline, prompting many to wonder if the film will ever be made or rather result to a serialized storyline for the small screen.
While internal restructuring have made the film and television divisions a bit more divided than they used to be, you just never know how the two will intersect (assuming they are given the opportunity). Either way, if appears that we are all going to have to wait quite a while before we’ll see any of the royal family on the big screen.
