In what is quickly becoming quite common, another Reba reunion is set at Happy’s Place. Reba alum JoAnna Garcia Swisher has been confirmed to guest star in the upcoming second season of the NBC comedy, reuniting her with former on-screen mom Reba McEntire.
Based on reports, Swisher will play Kenzie, a local Knoxville influencer who has been hired to represent Happy’s Place in their upcoming social media marketing campaign, much to Bobbie’s (McEntire) embarrassment.
The series follows Bobbie as she inherits her father’s tavern and is surprised to learn that she isn’t the only heir. Isabella (Melissa Escobedo), a twentysomething half-sister she never knew she had, is her rightful business partner, throwing a kink in the way things operate at the family-run establishment.
Swisher is the latest Reba alum to guest star on the Friday night sitcom. While Melissa Peterman serves as a series regular, both Steve Howey and Christopher Rich made cameos in the first season.
In addition to McEntire, Escobedo, and Peterman, the cast also features Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn.
While there’s been no word on when Swisher’s arc will begin, the second season of Happy’s Place returns to NBC on November 7.
Swisher is currently in production on the fifth season of Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, starring as Maddie Townsend in the series based on Sherryl Woods’ popular book series. Best known for her breakout role as Cheyenne in Reba, Swisher’s previous television credits include Gossip Girl, Royal Pains, How I Met Your Mother, and Freaks and Geeks. She most recently returned to serve as host for Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Queer Love.
