Primarily known for Stranger Things, Sadie Sink is sticking with sci-fi in new film O’Dessa. Sink plays the titular O’Dessa, a struggling farm girl who travels to the big city to recover a cherished family heirloom. There, she finds love with Euri Dervish (Kelvin Harrison, Jr.) but must use her music and singing to save him.
The trailer is full of color, creativity, and of course music. Directed and written by Geremy Jasper, the film is a feast for the eyes, reminiscent of Blade Runner 2049 and The Fifth Element. Boasting sixteen original songs, O’Dessa promises to deliver on its post-apocalyptic rock opera promise.
The film also stars Murray Bartlett and Regina Hall and is set to premiere at the SXSW Film and TV Festival this March with a streaming debut on Hulu set for March 13. Watch the trailer below.
