Action-packed from the beginning, the new trailer for Drop starring Meghann Fahy is done pretending this is a cute romance film. It succinctly lays out the premise — a widowed mother (Fahy) is going on her first real date in years with the handsome Henry (Brandon Sklenar). She begins receiving anonymous “drops” (think AirDrop) that become more and more ominous, eventually threatening to kill her son if she doesn’t kill Henry for this person.
Directed by Christopher Landon, Drop quickly ratchets up blind date nerves to full on life-or-death anxiety. All at once, she must figure out who’s behind the messages, how to save her son, and how to not kill her date.
The film is written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach and produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse and Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Cameron Fuller for Platinum Dunes. It also stars Violett Beane, Jacob Robinson, Reed Diamond, Gabrielle Ryan, Jeffery Self, Ed Weeks, and Travis Nelson.
Promising edge-of-your-seats thrills and a whodunnit that will keep you guessing, watch the trailer below and see Drop in theaters on April 11.
