Premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, Freaky Tales is an anthology film about different facets of 1987 Oakland. The new trailer for the film is full of big hair, punchy music, and plenty of chaotic violence, promising a wild ride of a film.
Written and directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, the film follows a cast of colorful characters including an NBA star (Jay Ellis), a female rap duo (Normani and Dominique Thorne), teen punks, neo-Nazis, and Pedro Pascal as a debt collector looking to retire from action. The film’s star-studded cast also includes Ben Mendelsohn, Jack Champion, Ji-young, Yoo, Angus Cloud, and a memorable cameo by Tom Hanks.
