Paul Feig’s “The Housemaid” Lands Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried

Best known for his comedy work, director Paul Feig is branching out to thrillers. Feig will be directing Lionsgate’s adaptation of Freida McFadden’s novel The Housemaid and it was recently announced that Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried will lead the film.

With a screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine, The Housemaid stars Sweeney as Millie, a struggling young woman seeking a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew, a wealthy couple with plenty of secrets.

Co-President of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Erin Westerman said, “Part of the fun of the book was imagining the cast while we read it, and Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are perfect for Millie and Nina — they’re both mysterious, nuanced and incredibly skilled at becoming characters who don’t revel everything right away.”

Details are light, but you could always stop by your local bookstore and get the spoilers from the source if you can’t wait for the release.
