Focus Features' Book Club 2 – The Next Chapter, which will reunite icons Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, and Mary Steenburgen, will hit theaters on Mother's Day, May 12, 2023. Currently, there are no other wide releases that weekend, though that will likely change as studios continue to iron out their schedules.

The film is written by original helmers Bill Holderman and Erin Simms, with Holderman returning to the director's chair for this second installment.

Part two will see the four best friends take their book club to Italy, experiencing the fun girls trip they never had. But when things go off the rails, their relaxing vacation quickly turns into something quite a bit more.

While the original film saw the ladies' book club dive into E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey, no word yet on which title will serve as the backdrop for this international adventure.

Andy Garcia, Don Johnson, Craig T. Nelson, Giancarlo Giannini, Huge Quarshie, and Vincent Riotta also star.

The first Book Club earned $104 million worldwide.

While my friends can drink you under the table, I can outwatch you when it comes iconic, yet horrid 80s films like Adventures in Babysitting and Troop Beverly Hills. I have no shame when it comes to what I like, and if you have a problem with that, then we’ll settle it on the racquetball court. I see too many movies to actually win any film trivia contest, so don’t waste your first pick on me. My friends rent movies from my bookcase shelves, and one day I do plan to start charging. I long to live in LA, where my movie obsession will actually help me fit in, but for now I am content with my home in Austin. I prefer indies to blockbusters, Longhorns to Sooners and Halloween to Friday the 13th. I miss the classics, as well as John Ritter, and I hope to one day sit down and interview the amazing Kate Winslet.
