After the success of 2019’s Escape Room, it only makes sense that the psychological thriller would get a sequel. After all, escape rooms are known for different themes and mixing it up.
In the sequel, Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, six people unexpectedly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive, and realizing they’ve all played the game before.
With modern-day Saw vibes, the film gets an extended cut only available on Blu-ray and Digital where you can also find behind-the-scenes featurettes and the original theatrical version. Buying your own copy is the only way to watch an alternate beginning and ending befitting the puzzle-heavy sequel.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is directed by Adam Robitel and stars Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Indya Moore, Holland Roden, Thomas Cocquerel, and Carlito Olivero. While the original theatrical release is 88 minutes, the extended version is 96 minutes long.
See an extended scene below and buy it on digital September 21 and Blu-ray and DVD October 5.
