Bob Odenkirk looks like your typical everyman. Best known for his roles in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Nebraska, in his newest film, he’s capitalizing on these “ordinary” looks and taking it in an entirely new direction. In Nobody, he plays Hutch Mansell, an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband, taking slights with unyielding patience.
After a home break-in ends with him backing out of defending himself or his family, his patience wears just a bit too thin and Hutch suddenly reveals his dark past, leading him down a violent path of fists, gunfire, and squealing tires against enemies from his past.
Directed by Ilya Naishuller from a script by Derek Kolstad, Nobody also stars Christopher Lloyd as Hutch’s father and musician-actor RZA as Hutch’s brother.
As the tagline says, “never underestimate a nobody.” See the trailer below and catch it in theaters on February 26, 2021.
