When you hear Liam Neeson is in a new movie, you may automatically assume it’s an action film. But in his new film, Made in Italy, Neeson is showing off his softer side with a father-son film full of heart and charm and gorgeous Italian vistas.
Giving you Under the Tuscan Sun vibes, bohemian London artist Robert (Neeson) and his estranged son Jack (Micheal Richardson) must make a quick sale of the Tuscan house they inherited from his late wife. Abandoned for decades, the two have a lot of work to do in order to make the house sellable. Robert’s comical lack of DIY experience leads him to seek help from some colorful locals. As the villa undergoes repairs, so does the relationship between Robert and Jack as they reminisce on happier times with their late wife and mother.
The film is the directorial debut of James D’Arcy, most known as an actor in television series like Agent Carter and Broadchurch as well as Homeland.
Made in Italy will be available in Drive-Ins, select theaters, digital and VOD on August 7.
