Since none of us can go to movie theaters for the foreseeable future, streaming giants have stepped in to give us new content to our living rooms, minus the giant screens, and pitch dark theaters. Netflix, as ever, is dominating in this market especially with its recent release, The Old Guard.
In a new trailer, the film promises an action-packed adventure following a shadowy group of tight-knight mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die. The group has been fighting for causes they believe in, across wars and countries, for centuries while doing their best to ensure their anonymity. When their identities are threatened and a new immortal comes to light, the group must escape and neutralize those trying to monetize themselves off of their abilities while training and welcoming a US Marine turned immortal.
Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, The Old Guard stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film hits Netflix on July 10.
