We now have a premiere date for the final season of HBO's The Newsroom. The Aaron Sorkin drama will premiere its six-episode third season on Sunday, November 9 at 9/8c. The show stars Jeff Daniels and chronicles the inner workings of broadcast journalism in a fast-paced, very talky style that has become a Sorkin trademark.
Lisa Kudrow's cult-hit comedy The Comeback will follow at 10/9c. Currently The Comeback will run eight half-hour episodes. The Comeback first aired in 2005 and was created by Sex and the City showrunner Michael Patrick King.
Also slotted into HBO's Sunday line-up is hospital comedy Getting On, airing at 10:30/9:30c. Getting On will kick off its second season. Created by Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer (Big Love), the comedy is an adaptation of a BBC series of the same name. It stars Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne), Alex Borstein (Family Guy, Mad TV), and Niecy Nash (Reno 911!) as staffers working in the geriatric wing of a hospital.
