With his latest, the psychological horror film The Neon Demon, the Danish filmmaker continues to push the envelope.
Starring Elle Fanning, Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone and Christina Hendricks, Demon follows a young model (Fanning) trying to make it big in LA. However, something sinister is at play, lurking just beyond the screen. According to Hendricks, the film is about “the dark underbelly of beauty and the things we would do for beauty.”
Setting the tone for this dark underbelly was no small feat, as it involved everything from investigating the fashion world to crafting a Cannes-award winning score. And while the film itself is shrouded in as much darkness and mystery as its characters, it is now open in limited release.
