Swiss Army Man has been making some serious noise—and I’m not just making an easy fart joke here.
A24’s latest indie hit tells the story of Hank (Paul Dano) and his life-changing friendship with Manny (Daniel Radcliffe), a corpse who washes ashore on the island where Hank is stranded. In addition to having probably the best plot ever, the film has also earned raves for its crafty direction and powerhouse performances.
However, given that the film is so dependent on Manny’s realism, makeup artist Jason Hamer deserves his fair share of the credit. Recently, Radcliffe and his superbly-crafted corpse hit the streets in a “Manny About Town” tour that saw the Harry Potter star accompanying his lifeless body to Washington D.C., Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles—where the film had a successful debut last weekend.
Before the film opens nationwide this Friday, watch Hamer create the gassy dead guy that has audiences and critics applauding.
