As the broadcast networks approach their prolonged hiatus and fans begin to suffer the midseason blues, cable networks are riding in with bells of joy as they gear up for an onslaught of new premieres---offering up veteran hits as well as a few rookies.
On January 5 Lifetime will get things started by returning to where it all started. That's right, 'Project Runway All Stars' is set to bow, bringing some of the best former contestants back to the runway to see who can out cut, out stitch and out scream their fellow contestants.
USA Network will see the return of critical favorite 'White Collar' on January 17, and 'Royal Pains' on January 18, both in the 10 PM hour. Newcomer 'Common Law', a drama starring Michael Ealy and Warren Kole, won't hit the screen until January 26, also at 10 PM.
Over on HBO, Ricky Gervais' new comedy 'Life's Too Short', starring Warwick Davis and Stephen Merchant, will premiere on February 19. It will follow the third season return of 'Eastbound and Down' at 10.
So while many shows are about to go on 'holiday hiatus', don't get down. There are many others just starting that are sure to make your Christmas both merry and bright!
