Ready your giant cups of coffee and piles of junk food because the Gilmore Girls are coming back!
Netflix recently announced that the channel is developing a revival of the incredibly popular series with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and her husband, executive producer Daniel Palladino. The revival will consist of four 90-minute movies rather than a full series.
A revival has been hinted at for months, gaining traction at the recent ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas this summer where the cast and creators reunited on stage. At the time, creator Sherman-Palladino said, "If it ever happened, I promise we'd do it correctly."
The series, which ran from 2000-2007, centered on Lorelei and Rory Gilmore, a mother and daughter living in the small, quirky town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. It starred Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel and was known for its quick dialogue and pop culture references. Creator Sherman-Palladino left the show before its last two seasons over contract disputes and its clear she's excited to end the show as she envisioned.
