Everyone’s got a podcast these days, even movies that haven’t come out yet. Boy Erased, the upcoming drama starring Lucas Hedges, has teamed up with the creators of popular podcast Radiolab on a podcast of their own, titled UnErased.
The podcast will be a four-part series that examines the controversial truth behind the “pray away the gay” movement and conversation therapy in America. The production team will include Mikel Ellcessor, co-creator of Radiolab, Kat Aaron, Alice Quinlan and Shima Oliaee with the author of the Boy Erased memoir Garrad Conley, whose life story and experience with conversation therapy is the basis for the film.
“Boy Erased tells a deeply personal story. UnErased tells the whole story. Combining one of the most comprehensive conversation therapy histories to date, survivors’ accounts, and exclusive interviews, UnErased will pick up where the memoir and film leave off,” said Garrad Conley and David Joseph Craig, one of the film’s co-producers and a cast member.
UnErased will first be available to Stitcher Premium subscribers in the weeks before the film’s November 2 release and everywhere once the film is released. It’s sure to be a double-whammy of an emotional punch.
