“The Lake” and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Join Forces Before Sundance Premiere

Environmental documentary The Lake, directed by Abby Ellis, recently announced that Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, and Philip Watson have boarded the film ahead of its first premiere at the Sundance Film Festival next week.

The film centers on the vanishing Great Salt Lake in Utah, talking to scientists and political insiders battling to save the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere. Beneath the lakebed is a reservoir of heavy metals that could go airborne after the water has dried up, endangering millions of people in Utah’s Wasatch Front.

The Lake is produced by Fletcher Keyes and Abby Ellis. It premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Thursday, January 22.
