Adrien Brody Film “The Brutalist” Picked Up By A24

A24 knows a winner when they see it. Fresh off a Best Director win at the Venice Film Festival, The Brutalist has been acquired by the studio for US distribution.

Directed by Brady Corbet, the film stars Adrien Brody as a Hungarian-born Jewish architect who emigrates to American in 1947. The three-and-a-half-hour film portrays his experience as an immigrant and his choice to assimilate to the American Way. The film was co-written by Corbet and Mona Fasvold and shown in 70mm at Venice and the Toronto International Film Festival. It’s set to screen at the New York Film Festival next.

After the awards success of previous A24 films like Everything Everywhere All At Once and Moonlight, it seems likely we’ll be seeing The Brutalist at future awards shows.
