Fear not, The Get Down fans, Books and Mylene are returning to your Netflix queues sooner rather than later. Netflix has announced that Part II of the The Get Down will premiere on the streaming service on April 7th.
Part II begins in 1978, one year after the events of the first part. Set in New York City, our characters must grapple with a looming cultural revolution as disco still reigns supreme while also dealing with ruthless gangsters and money-hungry record label bosses.
The Get Down originally premiered last August with six episodes. It stars Justice Smith, Jimmy Smits, Jaden Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen F. Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, T.J. Brown Jr. and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. It was created by Baz Luhrmann and Stephen Adly Guirgis and focuses on the rise of hip-hop.
So start prepping your snacks and get ready for The Get Down binge on April 7th.
