Robert Rodriguez’s Machete is a film that defies logic. Originally conceived as a fake film trailer, Machete has grown into a full-fledged action film that honors the B-movies of the 1970s. However, unlike those films of yesteryear, Machete relies on some of the biggest names in the industry to star in supporting roles: Robert De Niro is a corrupt politician, Lindsay Lohan is a pornographic website actress, and Steven Segal is a sword-wielding Mexican drug lord.

Good Luck Chuck

Director:

Cast:
Dane Cook, Jessica Alba
Running Time:

Rated:
R
I feel sorry for any R-rated romantic comedy that is released within the next year, because they will all be compared to the summer blockbuster Knocked Up, and unfortunately Good Luck Chuck is not even in the same ballpark.

Held back by a PG-13 rated script, bad casting, and ever worse acting Good Luck Chuck causes a few chuckles, but falls way short of both expectations and potential.

PG-13
Known more for his character of Austin Powers than anything else, Mike Myers has created a reputation for his off-the-wall and ridiculously addicting humor. Originating some of the most clever and quotable lines in all of cinema, the ‘International Man of Mystery' knows how to produce.
