If you are looking for some drop kicking action, The Man From Nowhere is the movie for you.  Starring Bin Won, Korea’s equivalent to America’s Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Lee Jung-beom, this film is full of action, adrenaline and non-stop fun.  I expected little and can honestly say that I was blown away with what I saw.

Inception

score:
A+
Director:
Christopher Nolan
Cast:
Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy
Running Time:
148
Rated:
PG-13
Author(s):
At this point, Christopher Nolan can officially be called a genius. Over the last decade his films have consistently been both financially lucrative and genre defining. One could even mount a solid case for calling Nolan one of the greatest directors of our time. Inception is perhaps the best evidence for such an assertion. The talented cast, mind-blowing story, and stunning visuals all support the basic underpinnings of the plot: that it is possible to willfully enter the dreams of others and manipulate their subconscious.

Shutter Island

score:
A-
Director:
Martin Scorsese
Cast:
Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams
Running Time:
138
Rated:
R
Author(s):
Martin Scorsese is a cinematic force to be reckoned with. The Academy Award-winning director received the Cecil B. DeMille award at this year’s Golden Globes, and with the release of Shutter Island coming in the wake of this recognition, Scorsese’s spot in American film history has solidified exponentially. I am an avid fan of the director’s work and had high hopes coming into his latest film… They were more than met. Shutter Island is saturated with the characteristic Scorsese style, from the cinematography to the use of music in driving a plot line.

Revolutionary Road

score:
A-
Director:
Sam Mendes
Cast:
Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Kathy Bates, Michael Shannon
Running Time:
119
Rated:
R
It has been nearly eleven years since Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet shared the screen in what is still the biggest box office hit of all time. However, now that both actors have solidified their place amongst Hollywood's most elite and well-respected, both have decided to venture away from the appealing, diving into the real, unfortunate circumstances that come with love, marriage and children.

Body of Lies

score:
C+
Director:
Ridley Scott
Cast:
Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Mark Strong, Golshifteh Farahani
Running Time:
128
Rated:
R
Anytime you put three such names as DiCaprio, Crowe and Scott on a single poster, buzz and hype are sure to accumulate. There is no exception with Body of Lies, a political thriller that has as much promise as star power. Unfortunately, even though DiCaprio gives a stellar performance as Roger Ferris, a CIA operative stationed in Jordan, the film fails to materialize, falling short of expectations as it is unable to register with the audience or provide for an entertaining escape.
